Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 October 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Divtechnosoft (“Divtechnosoft”, “we”, “us” or “our”), the operator of ChapterSnap, collects, uses, discloses and otherwise processes information in connection with the ChapterSnap website at chaptersnap.com (the “Website”) and the ChapterSnap mobile applications for iOS and Android (the “Apps”, and together with the Website, the “Services”).
By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy should be read together with our Terms of Use.
1. Who we are
The Services are operated by Divtechnosoft, India. For the purposes of applicable data protection laws, Divtechnosoft is the controller (or “data fiduciary”) of the personal data described in this Privacy Policy, except where stated otherwise.
You may contact us regarding this Privacy Policy at chaptersnap18@gmail.com.
2. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to information processed through the Services. It does not apply to third-party websites, services or applications that may be linked from or integrated with the Services, including app stores and advertising or analytics providers, which are governed by their own terms and privacy notices.
3. Information we collect
The Services do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask you to provide your name, postal address or telephone number in order to read summaries. We process the following categories of information:
3.1 Information you provide. If you submit feedback through the Apps, or contact us by email, we process the content of your submission or message (including any ratings, selections or comments) and, in the case of email, your email address and any information you choose to include.
3.2 Device and usage information. When you use the Services, certain information is collected automatically, which may include: device type, operating system and version; browser type; language and time-zone settings; approximate location derived from IP address (city or country level); pages, screens and summaries viewed; referring and exit pages; interactions such as clicks, scrolling and navigation; dates and times of access; and diagnostic and performance information.
3.3 Identifiers. To measure how many distinct readers have opened each summary, the Services generate or use a pseudonymous identifier associated with your browser or device (on the Website, a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser’s local storage; in the Apps, a device-level identifier). This identifier is not linked by us to your name, email address or any account. Where you enable notifications in the Apps, a push-notification token is also processed so that notifications can be delivered to your device.
3.4 Cookies and similar technologies. See Section 6.
4. How we use information
We use the information described above for the following purposes:
(a) to provide, operate, maintain and secure the Services, including delivering summaries and content you request; (b) to count distinct reads of summaries and determine which titles are most popular; (c) to understand how the Services are used and to analyse, improve and develop the Services; (d) to deliver push notifications you have enabled in the Apps; (e) to display advertising within the Apps and to measure its delivery; (f) to respond to your enquiries, feedback and requests; (g) to detect, prevent and address fraud, abuse, security incidents and technical issues; and (h) to comply with legal obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
5. Legal bases for processing
Where the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union or the United Kingdom, or a comparable law, applies, we rely on the following legal bases: (i) your consent, for analytics cookies and similar technologies on the Website where consent is required by law, which you may withdraw at any time; (ii) our legitimate interests in operating, securing, measuring and improving the Services and in offering them free of charge, balanced against your rights and interests; and (iii) compliance with legal obligations. Where the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 of India applies, we process personal data for lawful purposes in accordance with that Act, including on the basis of consent and for legitimate uses permitted by it.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
The Services use cookies, local storage and similar technologies (“Cookies”). These include:
6.1 Strictly necessary and functional technologies, which store your cookie preferences and the pseudonymous reading identifier described in Section 3.3, and which support the operation and security of the Services.
6.2 Analytics technologies. On the Website we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, and Microsoft Clarity, provided by Microsoft Corporation, to understand how visitors use the Website. These services may set Cookies (for example, Cookies with names beginning _ga, _clck and _clsk) and collect the device and usage information described in Section 3.2, including interaction data such as clicks and scrolling, which Clarity may use to produce aggregated heatmaps and session replays. In the Apps we use Google Analytics for Firebase for the same purposes.
6.3 Advertising technologies. The Apps display advertisements served through Google AdMob, which may use mediation partners such as Unity Ads. Advertising requests from the Apps are configured to request non-personalised advertising; however, advertising providers may process device information and identifiers to deliver, cap, measure and secure advertisements, in accordance with their own policies.
6.4 Your choices. Where required by applicable law (including for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), analytics Cookies on the Website are not set unless you consent, and a consent notice is presented to you. You may decline or withdraw consent at any time by selecting “Cookie settings” in the footer of the Website, or by clearing the Website’s stored preferences in your browser, after which the notice will be presented again. You may also control Cookies through your browser settings and, on mobile devices, through the advertising and tracking settings provided by your operating system. Blocking certain technologies may affect the functionality of the Services.
7. How we disclose information
We do not sell your personal information. We disclose information only as follows:
(a) Service providers that process information on our behalf to host, operate and support the Services, including Google LLC (Firebase, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Google Analytics and AdMob), Microsoft Corporation (Clarity) and Vercel Inc. (website hosting), each subject to contractual obligations appropriate to their role; (b) advertising partners, to the extent described in Section 6.3; (c) legal and safety purposes, where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process or a governmental request, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Divtechnosoft, our users or others; (d) business transfers, in connection with any merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation or sale of all or part of our business or assets, subject to customary confidentiality arrangements; and (e) with your consent or at your direction.
We may also share aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify you.
8. International transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than the one in which you are located, including the United States, which may have data protection laws different from those of your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the relevant authorities or the transfer mechanisms adopted by our service providers.
9. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services and to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Pseudonymous reading identifiers are retained while the related summary remains available on the Services. Analytics and advertising data are retained in accordance with the retention settings and policies of the relevant provider. Correspondence and feedback are retained for as long as needed to address them and for a reasonable period thereafter.
10. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration, including encryption in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information.
11. Children
The Services are intended for users who are at least 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where the law of your country requires parental consent for the processing of a minor’s personal data (including for users under 16 in certain countries of the European Economic Area), the Services may be used by such a minor only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us in violation of this Section, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction of processing of your personal data; to object to processing based on legitimate interests; to data portability; to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal; and to nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity where provided by law. Residents of certain jurisdictions, including California, may have additional rights, including the right to know the categories of personal information collected and to not be discriminated against for exercising their rights.
Because the Services do not use accounts, we may need you to provide information that allows us to locate the relevant data (for example, the identifier stored in your browser or details of your enquiry) and to verify your request. To exercise your rights, contact us at chaptersnap18@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
13. Grievance Officer
In accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the rules made thereunder and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, complaints and grievances regarding the processing of personal data or the content of the Services may be addressed to our Grievance Officer at chaptersnap18@gmail.com. We will acknowledge grievances and endeavour to resolve them within the time periods prescribed by applicable law.
14. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be notified through the Services where appropriate. Your continued use of the Services after an update takes effect constitutes acknowledgement of the updated Privacy Policy, to the extent permitted by law.
